Apply for VISA to Spain In Egypt

Tourist Visit

Application for visa must be submitted in person with no more than 180 days in advance to your trip and at least 15 days before. Applications with more than 180 days in advance and less than 15 day in advance to your trip will not be accepted.

This category of visa is for people wishing to visit Schengen area for a maximum period of 3 months (90 days only).

If your stay in the Schengen area will be for more than 90 days, please contact the Embassy through the following e-mail: emb.elcairo.vis@maec.es as we accept Schengen visa applications only.

If the visit includes two or more of Schengen countries, the Embassy of Spain will accept applications according to the following:

  • If the main destination for the Schengen countries, where you will spend the longest duration, is Spain.
  • If you are spending the same duration of days in several Schengen countries but Spain is your first county to visit.

Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.

Please note:

  • The Visa fees and BLS Service fees will be accepted –Cash- in USD only.
  • Any Additional Services will be accepted –Cash- in Egyptian Pounds only.
  • The rate of the Visa fees and BLS service fees might be changed without any notice as per the current exchange rate.
  • All fees are non-refundable.

Note: You can only apply by maximum 6 months or minimum 15 days before your travel to the Schengen Area.

  1. Visa Application Form filled out in English/Spanish, please check the Application Form. (To be signed and dated at BLS).
  2. New application form used starting from 01st of February, please download & fill it :
  3. (1) Recent photo (3.5x4.5) with white background not more than 6 months. Please check Photo Specifications.
  4. Valid passport for 3 months (90 days) after the end of the trip, and the passport must have at least 2 blank pages, with copies of all non - blank pages.
  5. If the applicant doesn´t have a Schengen visa on his/her current passport, he/she must bring an old passport covering the last 7 years (with no gaps between the passports). If none, the applicant must bring a movement certificate (indicating if they had a previous passports and if they had previously travelled to any Member States).
  6. For non- Egyptian nationals: Proof of legal residence in Egypt, valid for 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States.
  7. Copy of the National ID and must be translated, please check the ID Translation Form.
  8. Proof of the professional status:
    • For employees: an original signed & stamped HR letter stating the below: Current Position - Salary level - The date of the recruitment - Confirmation of leave approval.
    • For company owners: A Valid Commercial registry and up-to-date tax card (Original /Copy/Translation).
    • For Students: An original enrolment letter from school/university.
  9. Original bank account statements with an official bank stamp and signature and translations of the statements, showing activity over the last 6 months.
    • A declaration letter should be submitted to authorize the Spanish Embassy to confirm the bank accounts with the authenticity of the bank accounts. Please check the Declaration Form.
    • In case of non-personal bank account, an ID of the bank holder should be submitted with the declaration & signed by the Bank Holder.
    • If the submitted bank statement does not belong to the applicant (except for minors), an authorization to dispose of it stamped by the bank must be submitted. Please check the Authorization Form.
    • In the absence of a bank account, a proof of other assets must be submitted. If relevant, proof of financial means may be given by submitting an official national form of sponsorship and/or private accommodation (required by some Member States)
  10. Proof of intended means of transportation (A round Flight) and the tickets shouldn’t be fully paid before the issuing of the visa.
  11. A Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the stay, such as:
    • A prepaid hotel reservation.
    • Confirmation of a hotel reservation.
    • Confirmation of prepaid accommodation.
    • Proof of sufficient financial means to cover the accommodation cists.
    • Proof of private accommodation may also be provided by a host in line with certain legal requirements.
  12. Travel insurance covers the whole trip that covers the medical expenses and repatriation in case of accident or disease (minimum cover: € 30.000), please check the official Insurance Companies.

  15. For minors (under 18 years old):
    If minors travelling with only one of their Parents or without both parents:
    • In case of a minor traveling unaccompanied or with only one of their parents, they must provide either a notarized certificate from el shahr el Aqary that (must be translated into Spanish or English).
    • Or a signed parental Consent at (BLS) the Spanish Visa Center, please find the Parental Consent Form.
    • If the parents are outside Egypt, they must sign a notarized certificate inside the Spanish embassy at their current country.
    • A copy of either parent’s passport or ID must be provided.
    • An original birth certificate for the minor’s must be issued in Spanish by the Civil Status Authority).

General Information for all visa types:

    • The Submitted documents will not returned back to the applicant.
    • All documents that issued in Arabic should be translated into Spanish/English, except (Birth, Death, Marriage & Divorce) certificates must be issued from the civil registry office of Abbassia in Spanish only and to be submitted original. (No need for legalization).
    • All documents should be submitted original except the tax card, the commercial registry & the travel insurance (the originals need to be seen on the submission day) and you should submit the original of translations.
    • The validity of the submitted documents should not exceed one month from the issuance date.
    • All applicants must attend their appointments at BLS visa application centre except minors under 12 years old (they may not attend their appointments but they must submit the accurate Photo Specifications).
    • The Embassy may require more documents after submitting the application, they will send an e-mail to the e-mail address mentioned in the application form. Then the additional documents should be submitted to BLS office on our working days (From 02:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m. every day except Friday, Saturday & Holidays) within 10 calendar days after receiving the e-mail from the embassy. A Copy of the receipt of the application in addition to the e-mail of the Embassy (printed) must be provided with the additional documents.
    • If the trip includes more than one destination for Schengen countries, The Embassy of Spain in Egypt will be responsible for the issuance of the visa according to the following:-
      • If you are spending the same duration of days in several Schengen countries but Spain is your first country to visit.
      • SPAIN must be the main destination for the Schengen countries where you will spend the longest duration of stay.
    • For Groups (more than 15 applicants), please follow the below instructions:
      • The organization/company which is responsible for the group must prepare a list by the full data of the applicants (full name, passport number, date of birth & current address) and all the details of the trip to be submitted to the Embassy.
      • The responsible person should contact the Embassy of Spain in Egypt through following e-mail address: emb.elcairo.vis@maec.es to get an appointment to stamp the list.
      • The responsible person should deliver a copy of the stamped list with all the data of the organizer to BLS office on our working days (from 02:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m. All week except Friday, Saturday & Holidays) then we will contact you within the next 48 working hours.
    • Providing a Family Register to Proof the applicant’s family ties and marital status in Egypt.
    • For Spouses, a marriage certificate is required (to be issued in Spanish from the civil registry of Abbassia) if they are applying together or one of them is applying with documents relate to the other.
    • For Honeymooners, a proof of wedding/being married should be provided.
    • For foreigners, a valid permit of stay up to 3 months (90 days) after the end of the trip is required.
    • For the Egyptian Citizens who have a valid residency in any other country, According to a Schengen regulation, they have to apply for a Schengen visa to Spain from the country of residency.

Please make sure that the photograph meets the following requirements:

  • You have to provide a one recent one (not more than 6 months old), sized in (3.5 x 4.5) zoom on the face.
  • Must be in color, taken against white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling without glasses/sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background.

Note: If children under 12 years old are not attending their appointment(s), the parents have to provide two very recent photographs with their applications. In case the photographs do not meet the required specifications, the children will have to show up at the center to take a live photos.

Please follow these instructions carefully as If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete.

Applications submitted at BLS Visa Application Centre will be delivered to the Embassy of Spain on the next working day. Additional documents could be requested from the applicants in support of the same.

According to The Embassy of Spain the processing time is from 15 to 45 calendar days. In some cases this period could be extended.

Applicants submitting their applications with short notice time prior to the proposed date of travel will be at their own responsibilities.

It is advisable to prepare all your required documents corresponding to your travel dates, to avoid any delay in the application process.
